Q3 2019 NPS Departmental Survey Results

Our 2019 third quarterly NPS Survey results are in. Many departments have established long-term goals in insuring that they create sustainable processes ready to meet the needs of our growing company and their colleagues.  Over the last 3 quarters that we conducted the survey, we clearly see:

  • Consistent increases in all departments’ performance.  The overall score increased from 4.06 to 4.13 (on the scale from 1 to 5).  This shows the commitment that we all have to better understand each other’s needs.
  • Communication and ways to enhance it have been identified as the areas requiring regular attention from all of us. Thus, it is great to see that the two questions regarding each department’s accessibility show improved scores and they are each over a 4.0 rating!

IRS Redesigns W-4 Tax Withholding Form

Happy New Year! The IRS updated the W-4 form for the year 2020. The methodology behind the new form is different compared to the previous form. Below are helpful resources on completing the new 2020 Federal Tax Withholding Form.

Redesign of New W-4 Form

The new form will still contain the same information as the previous form, however some of the more complicated parts have been replaced with questions that will make the form easier to understand, making information more accurate for employees.

Withholding Allowances

Withholding allowances will no longer be used for the new W-4 Form. Previously, withholding allowances were tied to the amount of the personal exemption. You cannot currently claim personal exemptions or dependency exemptions due to changes in the law.

Are you required to fill out a new W-4 form?

No. If you have filled out a W-4 form before 2020, you will not be required to fill out a new one.  You will continue to compute your withholding based on the information from your most recent W-4.

FAQs

You can find Frequently Asked Questions about the redesigned form here.  Reminder: you can view other regulatory resources regarding IRS forms under Payroll > Regulatory Resources.

2018 Engagement Survey

2018 Employee Engagement Survey results are now available. Click EES 2018 Report to download the full report.

IN SUMMARY:

  • Our Engagement Score is 3.81 out of 5, putting us right around the 50th percentile among peer companies.
  • The majority of us agreed that we would recommend the organization as a place of work to a family member or friend (Score of 3.5 out 5.0).
  • We overwhelmingly agreed that we would recommend the organization’s supported services to a family member or friend (Score of 4.1 out of 5.0).

2018 was the second year in which we used Gallup’s Q12 survey to measure employee engagement, allowing us to compare results year-over-year.
Our Engagement Score stayed broadly stayed the same, despite rapid growth throughout the company. This further illustrates the solid foundation we have to continue building an organization focused on Raising the Standard in Children’s Oral Healthcare.

I am pleased to see that most of us feel more recognized, and am especially proud that we believe in the work provided in the practices we support. The score of 4.1 (out of 5) shows our commitment to Helping Children and our focus on supporting high quality care each and every day.
I recognize that Communication among all levels of the organization continues to be an area of opportunity for us all. We are working on a number of initiatives intended to boost both communication and feedback throughout the organization.

Gallup provides us with tools to separate summary office or department results to better understand what affects engagement on a local level. This will allow our teams to create meaningful impact plans to actively participate in positively affecting our work environment. Please ask your team leaders about this over the next few weeks.

We will be conducting the survey again this December and I look forward to your continued feedback.

Thank you for everything you do.

Best,
Alistair Madle, CEO
